CAD Components

I'm putting versions of the individual brackets and parts that I used to build the MicroRaptor model up on my web site. I'm including the five types of bracket, the AX-12, and the foot in each package.

I've provided 3 different versions of each package:
Hopefully these will help other people who are interested in these kits. Note that the parts are all taken from the Direct-X derived model posted to a thread on RoboSavvy.

  • You might want to ad your models to before someone else grabs them.

You put them under collections and on the JPG thumbnails put a link to your blog.

  • Opps. Just noticed that the Rhino models are MESH's.

Any chance you can convert them to NURB's?

  • Is there an automated way to convert them? I'd love to, but I don't know how, other than to do it manually, which is going to take a long time...

  • I found the MeshToNurb command, but I'm not really happy by what it produces. I think for now I'll leave it the way it is...

  • You would have to redraw them as NURBS. Takes time but you would have something you could send out to CNC machine tool for manufacture.

  • True, I could do that, but for this robot it would be a waste of time, since the components all come from a kit that I am going to buy...

Now for my next robot, the full-blown raptor, I do plan on doing that sort of thing, and of course the CAD model for it is done from scratch with NURBS.
